No task too small or too big — a servant at three churches and a pillar of Jersey City.

A servant’s heart.
Herman was an active member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Jersey City, where he served on the Board of Trustees — and where there was no task too small or too big for him. Whether it was shoveling snow or giving parishioners a ride, he was there for everybody, including his beloved Pastor and Sister Doby.
His service ran through three congregations: Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees at St. John’s Baptist Church, and Secretary of the Board of Trustees at Mount Olive Baptist Church — where he also helped organize, and served as Scoutmaster for, Troop 639 of the Boy Scouts of America.
Jersey City knew his name.
